I know the cable is ok as the two LED lights on it flash when plugged in and tested it on my other laptop just moments ago and it works.Įven when I insert a usb flash drive it is still not recognized Tried many times plugging and unplugging, rebooting linux and windows etc with no luck. Rebooted Windows VM and then when I reconnected the usb programming cable, turned on the radio and went to the little usb icon in the bottom right hand corner it said that there was still no usb devices available.

Yes, I did install it however Guest additions installer did not autostart so I had to manually start it like you said.
There is a linux version of radio programming software called CHIRP but this radio is not compatible with it This is like one of the only reasons I'm keeping my boat anchor laptop with Windows Vista on it and would be nice to eliminate it entirely if I can get this software to work with Peppermint.
